The warm air was a pleasant surprise to Mattie. The Dane was delighted to know spring was approaching, if the spring season was only a haven for allergies to prosper and act as the stepping stone to the dread that was summer. Mattie had no care for the American summer, it was far too hot for his liking. He had never seemed to adjust to the temperature gap between the American South and Denmark either. Where he had lived, the thriving metropolis capital of Copenhagen, it was always relatively breezy or rainy, temperatures were modest considered how it was backed up to a coastline. Mattie preferred the moderate climate to the blistering heat of the summer here, after all, he was Danish. He like, melted in the summer, like some kind of wilting popsicle. Disgusting. Mattie was so done with sweaty bodies either, it was just reminiscent of exercise and Mattie was far done with that.
Mattie was in Atlanta for the weekend, he had to take a trip to the nearest office of his agent. Of course, Mattie wasn’t close enough to Los Angeles to frequent the usual office there, but his agent and him stroke a deal that would have fit for the both of them. Mattie couldn’t compromise the location of Feli’s camp either, he wouldn’t have done that to his cousin. Besides, he was in her debt some way or another, even if she wouldn’t have admitted it herself. Thankfully for Mattie though, he was already done with most of his work, and there was a large block of spare time he had, precisely until that evening to make use of it. Mattie wasn’t all too sure what he was to do, likely he’d buy some food to bring back on the bus. There were plenty of nice restaurants down here unique bakeries and cafes. Feli could use a treat too, and it wouldn’t have been a problem for Mattie.
Mattie took a full stop in front of a quaint and dainty bakery, looking in awe at the vast assortment of pastries and delicacies that they offered to be purchased. Ah, it reminded Mattie of Denmark in a way, there was a large bakers scene. Paris had always been on Mattie’s bucket list, mostly so he could visit the old bakeries in the city, take a trip to satisfy the tourist that lived in his heart. There was some especially beautiful monuments also, though Mattie wasn’t exactly one for history himself. After all, in High School, at least before he dropped out, History class was his naptime. He woke up at four o’clock on the minute every morning, after only five hours of rest each night, and it wasn’t like he was going to pass the class even if he tried. Better to get some sleep in there, cause Denmark forbid he wasn’t getting any the night prior.
Mattie stepped up to the counter, a small smile on his face as he pressed a finger to the glass, motioning to what he had selected. “Ahh! I’ll take a latte and a box of a dozen danishes to go please! Thank you!”, Mattie said to the employee in the back, who shuffled to get to work on Mattie’s order. Mattie stepped to the side, waiting for his drink, rather impatiently. He wasn’t in a rush, but merely extremely overeager. He bounced to the side, accidentally knocking into someone. “Aaaaaah I’m so so so sorry miss!”, Mattie exclaimed, an expression of worry present on his face.
